“Realize deeply that the present moment is all you have. Make the NOW the primary focus of your life .” - Eckhart Tolle
The art of being is foundational to the Inner Guru Method, as well as foundational to living your best life regardless of the circumstances.
The art of being is a concept that encompasses the idea of living intentionally and mindfully in the present moment. It involves finding balance, inner peace, and authenticity within oneself. Being able to connect with oneself and others is a vital component of the art of being. In this blog, we will explore the art of being and how it can make all the difference in our efforts to overcome hard things and create the life we desire.
The art of being requires self-awareness
It involves taking the time to understand oneself, including one's values, beliefs, strengths, and weaknesses. Self-awareness allows individuals to identify their passions and purpose in life, helping them to live intentionally and align their actions with their values.
The next step is cultivating a present-moment focus
In today's fast-paced world, it is easy to get caught up in all the noise of the world and live in the past or future. This usually is a path to stress and anxiety. By focusing on the present moment, individuals can experience a sense of calm and contentment, regardless of external circumstances. This mindfulness practice can help individuals become more aware of their thoughts, feelings, and sensations, and learn to respond to them in a non-judgmental manner. Letting go of the shame, judgement, or a need to “fix” things is absolutely key.
Another essential aspect of the art of being is finding harmony and creating healthy boundaries
Life can be hectic, and it's easy to become overwhelmed with responsibilities, commitments, and obligations. Especially if we are listening to the noisy expectations of the world! Finding harmony involves prioritizing one's physical, emotional, and spiritual health. This includes taking care of oneself by getting enough sleep, exercise, and proper nutrition. It also means taking time for self-care activities like reading, meditating, or spending time in nature.
The art of being also involves cultivating meaningful relationships
Humans are social beings, and we need connection and community to thrive. This includes nurturing relationships with family, friends, and colleagues, as well as building new connections with like-minded individuals. It also involves being open and vulnerable with others, sharing our experiences and emotions, and listening with compassion.
Lastly, the art of being requires authenticity
It involves being true to oneself and living in alignment with one's values and beliefs. This is a form of healthy boundary setting. This also means not compromising on one's integrity or morals for the sake of people-pleasing. Authenticity also involves embracing one's imperfections and vulnerabilities, recognizing that they are a natural part of the human experience.
In conclusion,
the art of being is about living intentionally, mindfully, and authentically. It involves self-awareness, present-moment focus, harmony, meaningful relationships, and authenticity. By cultivating these qualities, individuals can get out of the stress cycle, and find inner peace, happiness, and fulfillment. And, just a friendly reminder, the art of being is not a destination, but rather a journey, one that requires consistent practice and refinement. With the right dedication and support, anyone can master the art ofbeing and lead a fulfilling life.
